Umbrel: Bleskomat Server app now available

It is now possible for Umbrel users to run their very own Bitcoin Lightning ATM without the need for any third parties. The Bleskomat Server is available to install from the Umbrel App Store. This new app will allow you to connect your Bleskomat ATM to the Lightning Network node already running on your Umbrel.

What is Umbrel?

Run a personal server in your home, self-host open source apps like Nextcloud and Bitcoin node, break away from big tech, and take full control of your data. For free.

Umbrel is a suite of software that makes it easy to setup your own personal server at home using a Raspberry Pi 4. Many open-source projects are installable as apps – e.g. Bitcoin and Lightning Network full nodes, BTCPay Server, Pi-Hole to block advertising domains at the DNS level, Home Assistant for home automation and IoT device management, and more.

The interface is simple and straight to the point. To connect your Bleskomat ATM to your Bleskomat Server just follow these simple steps:

  1. Add a new API key
  2. Download the API key’s configuration file
  3. Copy the file to your ATM’s SD card

That’s it!

The Bleskomat Server software is open-source and can be found on GitHub. We are open to collaborations, so open a pull-request or suggest a new feature. We are happy to discuss how it can be improved.
